More about aero windows dell latitude d610
  1. You need to install the proper drivers for your on-board video and then you'll be able to use an Aero Theme. Does your Dell use an ATI (Radeon Mobility X300) or the Intel video adapter?

Also, are you using 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 7?

After digging around some more, I think the OP is out of luck all around. Both possible video adapters are quite old (by any measure) and are not likely to run Aero.

I suggest it is time for a new laptop. Sorry to get your hopes up, but I don't see a good solution here.
  4. I Had an old hp with the 915GM ,would run 7 but with not AERO.
  5. I have two D610's running win 7 ultimate and Windows Aero completely fine. Both with the ATi x300 mobility Graphics cards. There is one of two ways I suggest..

    1. Rummage around in windows update, I got an update in there with the drivers to the graphics card

    2. Go to control panel, devices and drivers. Uninstall the current driver for the graphics card, restart your computer and windows SHOULD automatically find the driver for you, install, update it by itself.

Both of which I have done recently due to overclocking the GPU.

  7. Right click on your desk top, choose screen resolution. on the display window, click advanced settings, the grapgic properties will pop up, your video controller will be identified on the adapter tab. By the way, I have been searching for months for a 7 driver for an old Dell, no luck. I finially broke down abd bought the video card upgrade, 15. bucks on ebay.
