Need Great Gaming Comp for Crysis 2 (under 1100)

Hello everyone this is my first post on here:) (I need a low price due to my age of 14.)

What I'm looking for is a gaming computer for under $1100 dont include OS, monitor, and keyboard/mice. I dont care if you use NVIDA or AMD. And same goes with CPU but i would like to be able to run the game at with all the graphics on very high at whatever the average full screen res is. With FPS in between 30-50. And cooling just have fans. My current setup is about a $700 computer. With an AMD Athlon II X4 Processor (4 CPUs) 2.8 GHz. A ATI Radeon HD 5600 Series graphics card, and 4 gig of ram. I get about 20-40 FPS on Ultra High at 1680x1050. But with the new comp i want it to be as best as i can be for under the price. And it could be many differnet parts to buy a put together. And also does anyone have a recommendation for a monitor. Thanks for helping :)

Below are some comps I though that might be good I have done some researching but still its complicated.

CPU 3.3GHz Intel Core i5-2500K £160 $225
Motherboard Asus P8P67 £120 $160

CPU Cooler Thermaltake Frio £40 $60

Optical drive SATA DVD-RW £15 $20
Storage (HDD) 1TB Samsung SpinPoint F3 £40 $65
Storage (SSD) 64GB Crucial RealSSD C300 £100 $130
Sound Card Asus Xonar DS £40 $50
Sound Card Overall Price: £915 $1,185 (Im thinking this one might work)

  1. Skip the sound card, go cheaper on the cooler either Scythe Mugen2 or Hyper 212+. Add the budget onto video card.
  2. Thanks man, but are you meaning getting rid of the sound card?
  3. Yes, the integrated sound card on the ASUS P8P67 is more than good enough for almost everyones needs. Unless you are a big audio buff just skip the sound card in general.
  4. Looks like a nice build. +1 to raptors ideas with the sound card and CPU cooler.

For a monitor, it really depends on what you want to spend. I decided to go with 120hz ones personally - my favorite being the BenQ XL2410 (nicer than my Asus 120hz). Other than that, I'd say buy a 27" Asus VE278Q, or for a bit less money, something like a 24" BenQ G2420HD. There are too many options really... honestly, just find something on sale unless you are really picky...
  5. Dude, Id def go HD 6950 instead of the Nvidia Alternative. Im not against NVIDIA at all, i actually love the product however the 6950 punches allot harder and the 2gig mem always helps allot when playing any crisis title. I own a 6950 and its such a great card. Id never go 6970, its far to expensive. Add another 6950 and BOOM, massive GPU performance.

So save on the cpu cooler, and get the 212+. Its a great cooler for its price and punches way above its weight. With after market fans, (push - pull) it rivals any air cooled cooler.

  6. Thanks jason with all the screens out there its hard to decide :P

julzfromsa Ill look into though i haven't checked out there GPUs much.
