Computer Restarts At Windows Logo

I got a new motherboard and video card because I was tired of using the on-board video card on my old mobo which had the pcie slot burnt out.

I got a new mobo and bought and video card and every time i get to the windows logo, it loads for a bit and resets. Any ideas?

Also tells me that the cpu fan is running slow, which it is, but this is a secondary issue and not really concerned.

You need to reinstall Windows.

thanks i just figured that out for some reason my computer wont boot from my cd rom to reinstall. any suggestions? my cd rom drive lights up and everything and im fairly sure i connected it correctly to my mobo. the cd is a little scrat

sorry. i was saying the cd is a little scratched but ive used it like that before. suggestions?

You might want to go into your BIOS and see if the CD drive is set as the primary boot device. If it is not you might want to change the settings so that it is.

If the CD is too scratched to work, you can probably get a backup CD for a couple bucks from Microsoft if you call them. The CDs are a dime a dozen, it is the CD Keys that are controlled, so they will probably not fight too hard.

one last question i guess. when i boot my windows cd. it gets stuck on the blue windows wallpaper, just like this example. i would try to use the example from there but i only have a usb kb and mouse so i cant get it to boot from cd without my kb. recommendations?

Sounds like a bad CD. I would see about calling Microsoft and trying to pay them a couple bucks to send you a backup CD.

I got it. It was just loading slowly. Probably is the cd though because its a little scratched. If i could buy you some drinks and pizza i would def do that. Thanks for your help raiddinn
