i was just on my desktop doing some gaming a realized even with the most resource needing game that the desktop can play, my ram does not exceed 1.2GBs. i decided to turn off pagefile because i just dont need it. i rebooted my PC to apply these changes, and when my PC turned on there was a strange somewhat high pitch noise. i made it to my "welcome" screen and it shut down. i restarted it and made it to the windows XP boot screen and it shut down. since then, i havent been able to get it to stay on for more than 5 seconds.

powersupply is working fine. i know that much. i tried unplugging my RAM and trying different RAM etc etc tried unplugging my GT520, nothing, unplugged my DVD, floppy, HDD, nothing. i really dont know whats going on, but keep in mind that this build is almost 7 years old minus the pentium D extreme edition and the GT520. the motherboard is almost 7 years old and im surprised it still works, could this just be a bad coincidence and my motherboard just died?
