No, but that is different than what we are discussing.

When it says DDR2 or DDR3 on a motherboard, it means RAM. If you try to put DDR3 RAM in a DDR2 RAM slot then it won't work.

The motherboard doesn't care what the RAM that is built into the video card is. You could put a GDDR5 video card in a DDR2 motherboard and the motherboard wouldn't have a problem with it.

The motherboard has no clue about anything related to the internal workings of the video card so what speed of RAM is on the video card is unknown to it.

All the motherboard knows about the video card is how to send data back and forth to it.
