Compatible video card for pentium 4 non built-in video card

i have a mother board has a 1.6 ghz processor, i insert the nvidia gfx 5500 but my monitor did not respond. I want to play more graphics so how can you help me to have a compatibility video card?

What kind of games are you expecting to play with your system? And what have you tried to get the other card working? If the FX 5500 did not work, I doubt any card will work. Your power supply could be too low powered, the video card slot could be bad, maybe the video card itself was bad.
