A Replacement for Lenovo ThinkPad T61 processor

Hello,
I recently had my Lenovo ThinkPad T61 processor (CPU) "blown or destroyed" by a power surge. Is it possible to replace this processor? Where can I get this part/component. My notebook cant power-on anymore and the power inlet was checked to be fine and the problem was found to be a blown processor.

It uses a Core 2 Dual T series CPU.

Before ordering make sure you can remove the current CPU. Some laptops have their CPU soldered into the motherboard.

The t61's use a flathead screwdriver loosening screw. The suggestions are good. Make sure to tighten the heatsink fully
