Hd5870 2gb wont display on HDTV unless additional monitor is plugged in

Hello,
I have the Sapphire eyefinity 6 2gb card and when I hook it up to a Vizio 37in 1080p. my computer will not display video or power on keyboard and mouse, unless i have my Samsung monitor attached. the monitor uses the dongle to DVI the TV uses dongle to HDMI. Now the interesting part is that the monitor doesnt even have to be plugged into a power source for the tv to work. computer to tv will never work unless the monitor is plugged in. any suggestions?

Do you have a reeeaaaalllly long cable that is somewhat low quality?

No it is a 5ft cable that came with my sony blu ray player
