I'm (still) running a Dell Dimension 4400 1.6Ghz P4 w/1G ram. The video card is Nvidea NV18 GeForce4 MX 440 AGP 8X and seems to be the system's slowest underperformer. I'm running Ubuntu Linux. Is there a video upgrade out there that can make a big difference on this old system without spending more than the system is worth? I'd like to keep it to <$100 at newegg. Thanks!
ps - This is not a gaming machine, just web browsing.
your best bet would be to check ebay or newegg for AGP cards and then check nvidia, linux, or AMD forums to see if linux drivers even exist for the card. any card you find will be greatly over priced, agp has gone the way of the dodo
