Hello!

I figured i need to clean my 8800 GTX.
The last time i did that i removed the cover, removed dust, removed old thermal paste and applied new. I did not realize that I might have had to do something abouth the thermal pads that were there.

So here are my questions:

Do I have to remove the pads and apply new pads/paste on there? (Or can I just let the old pads be?)

Should i use pads or paste anyway?

I have something called ZM-STG2, made by Zalman. Can I use that for the memory? (instead of pads). Cause i read something about that it had to be non-conductive when handling GPUs, this says Thermal Conductivity 4.1 W/mK.

More about : thermal paste thermal pads

Hi.

I'd change the pads too but not for those Zalman. Get some news pads and change it, you will see a little change in temps in your GPU.
