Community,

I am considering upgrading my video card.

I'm currently running a EVGA GTX 275 FTW (the sweetspot of the summer of 2009!). Other pertinent hardware: Corsair 850TX power supply (Yes, I have a thread in the power supply I'm considering an SLI of GTX 550Ti's. My motherboard supports 3 video cards with two x16 slots and one x8 slot. I'm interested in using the GTX 275 as a dedicated PhysX card. My real question is would the 275 only processing the PhysX stuff and the SLI 550's only worrying about graphics provide a better overall experience compared to the 550's being responsible for graphics and PhysX?

Thank you for your opinions.

Two 550 isn't worth it period. Fermi architecture is weaker than the older cards on a unit by unit bases and with even higher clocks as well more units it is barely any faster. I suggest that you try for a higher end solution or go sli with what you got if you are still able to find a second gtx 275. openGL issues with the new cards as well brick some games.
