I have tested my security using Gibson Research tool and have three open ports. These are 21, ftp , 23 http and 80 telnet (or somesuch) How can I close these ports
I have an e-tech adsl 4 port modem router which uses connexant set up do I close the ports here?
I am using zone alarm free download with a f2s connection
Any help would be much appreciated as this is a worrying problem. thanks

Actually it is 21-ftp, 23-telnet, 80-http. But that is beside the point :)
Check your routers config and see if it lists those as being open anywhere. It would be under any sort of options regarding ports whether it is incomming, forwarding, etc.

I am inclined towards that. I only have a limited experience of the connexant set up but i will search for a reference. It does say ftp enabled beside a disable check box I think it lists http as enabled as well I will check for telnet 80.
Thanks - help appreciated
