Cpu help

i have a m2n-sli motherboard i was woundering if a AMD Phenom II X4 940 Black Edition will work in it

i can support am and am+ and limited am3 cpu,
i went to the web side and the cpu is not on there but its a am+ cpu so it should work right????

if not what is the strongest cpu i can put in it,

if u need spec of what i got i can post

According to the list, this is the fastest cpu that will work with bios file 5001. I would check the post screen at the top and see what bios file you have now. Use your old cpu to flash the bios to the latest version only if you need to. The 95w version of the 945 phenom II is the fastest cpu listed and requires bios file 5001. ok im running a athlon64x2 6400 3.2ghz i think ita a 125w but not sure as it goes for bios im running 802 , the web page says i should be running a 201 i think so and i running the wrong bios also a funny thing my video card wont work in pci-e slot 1 but it will in slot 2 (8800gts) if i put my gt520 in slot 1 it works fine,, kinda funny and my 8800gts runs in 8x not 16x
