  1. No, the Phenom II X4 940 BE (125W TDP) will not work on your ASUS M2N-SLI http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM2/M2NSLI/#CPUS All of the CPU's listed, that I saw, were 95W TDP CPUs and the AMD Phenom II X4 940 BE HDZ955FBK4DGI/HDZ955FBGIBOX is 125W not to mentioned the BIOS (Supported CPU List) offerings lack the proper CPUID to support it.
  2. According to the list, this is the fastest cpu that will work with bios file 5001. I would check the post screen at the top and see what bios file you have now. Use your old cpu to flash the bios to the latest version only if you need to. Bios flashes can go wrong, resulting in a dead board, so read the directions carefully before deciding to do it or get some help from an experienced friend. http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM2/M2NSLI/#CPUS. The 95w version of the 945 phenom II is the fastest cpu listed and requires bios file 5001. Here's one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/AMD-Phenom-II-X4-945-Quad-Core-Processor-/230795576467?pt=CPUs&hash=item35bc7d0493
  3. ok im running a athlon64x2 6400 3.2ghz i think ita a 125w but not sure as it goes for bios im running 802 , the web page says i should be running a 201 i think so and i running the wrong bios also a funny thing my video card wont work in pci-e slot 1 but it will in slot 2 (8800gts) if i put my gt520 in slot 1 it works fine,, kinda funny and my 8800gts runs in 8x not 16x
