Hi!

I currently have a graphix card running at x8 due to a pci-e sound card. I'm opting to change it to a pci card so this would let the graphix card run @ x16 or x8/x8 cf or sli, right?? Meaning the pci wont interfere with pci-e lanes at all. System i5-2500k, ga-z68xp-ud4, 8 gb, 7970 3gb, xonar essence stx.

I wouldn't worry about it. There's about a 1 FPS difference between x8 and x16 for the 7970.

Thanx for the reply. I'm considering the change because of a possibility of adding another graphix card, 7970dc2 covers all the x1 slots so I need to move it from the x8 slot.

If your mobo has a pcie x1 slot, then you use it for sound card and it will not share with pcie x16 slot.
