Hello,

I am having a problem with an old DPP500 monitor. Initially, at no apparent cause, it stopped working completely - the power light just stayed yellow when turned on. After removing the back cover and the metal shielding under it, I found out that one of the wires (the yellow one) in the connector that connects the signal cable to the PCB on the back of the panel was loose. I reconnected it, reassembled the monitor, and tested. This time, the power light went green when I turned on the PC, but the screen stayed black. After peering closely at it, I realized that the LCD matrix was working - I could see a very very dark image of Win2k boot-up screen - but apparently the backlight wasn't. Also, the power light blinks off for a moment every 5 seconds or so. Any idea what might be causing it, and what could be the solution? Besides the obvious that the backlight is dead and I'm screwed :(

If backlight's dead, u can fix it, it's not terribly hard to replace it. Check that it's properly hooked up (perhaps the backlight isn't touch a connector as well or is touching something it shouldn't).
