Saints vs Pats. Saints will win in a shootoutUm, no. Tom Brady's Patriots would crush the defenseless and Paytonless saints. Don't forget that before Sean Payton, Drew Brees was a decent, but never great QB. Without Payton, he'd be overwhelmed by a revamped Belichick defense, and Tom Brady will have Welker, Lloyd, Hernendez and Gronk.

Steelers vs Packers for the rematch as a hobbled Big Ben throws 5 touchdowns!I'm a Packers fan and I would love to see this match up (and outcome) again! Realistically, and this hurts me to my core, but I seriously think Detroit could be a superbowl contentender this year for the NFC, they have as good as a chance as anyone with their stacked offense and an above-average defense.
I'm calling Detroit/Pitt.

I'm from Michigan, and follow the Lions, but not a Lions fan (go Cowboys!
). You might want to check on the serious issues the Lions have, such as no defensive backs, no run game, and some poor drafting this year.
Big ben has had a fantastic defense. He's been a game manager. Romo has been a gun slinger with no running game and a decent defense.
Romo has basically played 3 less years, and put up as good, if not better numbers in most categories. I'm not saying Romo is Troy Aikman or Joe Montana, but he's got more athletic ability than a game manager, who has rings because of an amazing/crushing defense.

I agree with you on the run game if Jahvid Best doesn't stay healthy, his backup Maurice Morris is sub-par at best. I do think Jahvid Best is a pretty decent running back considering how much they actually need to run. I partially agree with the assessment of the defense, only in regards to their secondary considering they had lost one of their best corners - however, Green Bay has had a league worst secondary last year and still went 15-1 with a similarly built offense.
Their defensive line is stellar and the linebacking group is good, not great, but good - hence my above-average rating.
As far as their draft I couldn't disagree more, mainly because I've actually seen two of these draft picks play multiple times in person. I'm from Oklahoma and I've followed the career of Broyles and Lewis, and they were steals in the draft. If Broyles hadn't gotten hurt during the season, he would have been a top 10-15 pick. They also drafted heavily for their defense (3DBs and 3LBs).
FYI, love that Dallas is utilizing DeMarco Murray - I'm surprised that a RB his size is doing so awesome, so good on them.

The main problem with the Lions running game is that Best still doesn't have doctor's clearance from his concussion 10 months ago. He's already had 3 or 4 concussions. Leshour just started practicing, and has a lot to learn in a real short time. Other than that, Kevin Smith is about the best they have in the backfield (Maurice Morris is currently a free agent).
The backfield was already poor and torched regularly last year. Aaron Berry was cut for off the field issues. Delmas is the only one capable of covering someone, and he just had knee surgery last week. He'll be able to play, but will have to tolerate the pain level all year.
The problem with the draft, is that they drafted for next year, not this one. They already had a full compliment of WR's, but they drafted Broyles (who will likely see slim to no time). They also drafted Reiff, but he's going to be the backup (looks like backup guard). It's just not a good draft when you have such glaring holes, and add to an area that's already strong. The difference in the Packers and the Lions, is Woodson. The Lions don't have that. Not to mention that, even tho Stafford has great potential, he's not as seasoned as Rogers.
