Hi i am new here and i need your help guys. :)

Ok i am building a new rig and the only thing that remains is a GPU.

My parts are..

CPU: I7 2600K
CPU Cooler: CM Hyper 212+
Mobo: ASUS P8P67 Pro
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 2X4GB 1600Mhz
HDD: Samsung Spinpoint 1TB F3
SSD: OCZ Vertex 2 60GB(For OS and some games)
PSU: Corsair HX750 Watt

I am between HD6950 Xfire and GTX 580..
2x6950 cost 488 euro and GTX 580 482 euro in my country.

Which would you prefer?
Of course you can recommend any other GPU.

Thanks in advance.

6950's, but are they 2GB versions or 1GB? anyway they are much better than a single 580, if i'd have the same choice i'd go for the 6950s not even thinking about the 580, or.. maybe not cause my Mobo doesn't support over 1 GPU :(

where do you live?

maybe you should check also 6870s/5870s/6970s/560s

570 and 570s are pointless waste of money cause they are a little worse than 6950s,

560s only if they are a lot cheaper than 6950s ;)
5870s and 6870s also, only if a lot cheaper than 560s and 6950s, 6970s would beat everything and be only few % behind 580s

I'd get the 2 x 6950's. If you get a reference board model it can be bios flashed to a 6970. Crossfired 6970's would easily beat a single 580, just watch the load on the PSU.

I forgot to mention my monitor which is a Samsung SyncMaster 23" 1920x1080.

^then it's even better for you, they are more future-proof, because of 2GB memory and can run many screens better than 1GB versions *also the higher resolutions* + they can be flashed*but unfortunately it usually voids the warranty* into 2x6970 which perform almost as good as 2x580!

Having been going through the crossfirex stuff with 5850 really to satisfy my itch, I have learned that crossfiring is a headache in many games because of compatibility and microstutter, and because second PCIe slot on most motherboards not allowing more than x8 speed electrically.

Please, try to stay with one GPU for now and upgrade in the future. Buying two cards at once is a bad investment. In about 8 months or so, after buying the first 5850, I got the second one at 1/3rd of its price. Crossfiring may not be worth it at this point if a few FPS aren't worth that extra money for you.
