The type of memory is not that important -- it is a combination of the type of memory, the speed it runs at, and the memory bus width that combine to make the memory throughput (which is the more important item - since it is the total amount of info the card can process per second that matters not how it processes it !!) and as far as amount of memory on the card the importance of it is also more a factor when combined with the rest of the specs of the card (ie. putting 1 or 2GB. of memory on a card that can not use it effectively is wasted as much as having only 512Mb on a faster card that could support 1GB.) -- so as stated it is hard to give an exact answer to your question as it is the combination of all the parts and the usage it is being used for that leads to the performance of any specific card. so would need more specifics to provide any useful info.
