More about : battlefield requirements
I'm kind of dissapointed I will need a DVD drive, my computer only has a floppy, and what is this keyboard and mouse thing, why isnt it touch screen capable, I want to use my non existant iPad!
On a serious note it sounds like they are leaving Windows XP behind by requiring Dx10, which may be bad for their market but it needs to be done in general. What were you expecting for specs?

I actually think it will be
Minimum System Requirements
Processor: Core 2 Duo 2.5 GHZ or better
Memory: 2 GB (XP) 3 GB (VISTA)
Hard Drive: 15 GB for Digital Version, 10 GB for Disc Version
Video Memory: 256 MB
Sound Card: DirectX Compatible
DirectX: 9
DVD Rom Drive
thats probally what they will say, however it probally wont run better then 800x600 on that LOL
they wont forsake DX9 because thats what the consoles run on, so at min it will support DX9, same with the GPU memory, min will be 256 because of consoles, the question is are they going to include a hi rez texture pack in the game so it doesnt look like crysis 2 LOL

Really?Well what would u suggest for 1-2 years further on max on 1280*1024res?
I would say something along the lines of a gtx 460, that res is not too demanding, you can probably get away with less of a gpu, maybe even something like a secondhand gtx 260 or a 5770 should be adequate at that res but for the money id get a gtx 460 in case you decide to upgrade your monitor down the road.
yeah a 5970 is way overkill for the OP's resolution, so is a 560 but not if he bumps up to 1080p, lcds are cheap now you can get a decent lcd for around $150, like fatsoferret said, get a gtx 560ti which is a great bang for your buck and then upgrade your monitor if you have money enough to buy a 5970, the monitor upgrade will single handedly change your expirience a lot more than you will think rather than getting an overkill gpu for a dated resolution... again, my .02c

(maxing everything out on 1280*1024 with 50+ fps
Yeah it's annoying that 1920x1200 is at least twice as expensive as 1080p, but, I really don't mind 1080p. Down the road I'm thinking of going triple monitor, maybe 1440x900 flipped sideways (2700x1440) or even 1680x1050 - just depends if a beastly single card will be able to handle that when we get the 28nm cards next year.

Do you think a GTX 590 with an i7 920 3.7 ghz will be able to max this game out and get well above 60 fps by the time the game comes out in Fall?I would like to know the same thing. Or, better yet, would a 570 be able to run it maxed out at least 60fps? I'm trying to figure out if it would be worth it for me to buy a 570 right now to play my current games while I wait for BF3 to come out, or should I wait a while longer, let the current prices drop, and purchase something better for the same price I'd pay for a 570 currently?

Well, considering how CPU bottlenecked BC2 was, I fully expect a quad core to be "mandatory" for anything above medium settings. As for a 570 maxing BF3, a 570 paired with an OC'd 2600k doesn't even max BC2 @ a steady 60 FPS, so I doubt it will max BF3. Probably 35-40+ FPS steady, but not maxed...
What about the 590?

I have an i5 2500k at stock with turbo boost to 3.8 ghz and a evga gtx 570 and i can run bfbc everything as high as it can go at 1080 and i got 65 up to 100 fps and even when theres a lot of explosions and hella AI it dips into the mid 50's at LOWEST. i single 570 should run bf3 at meduim setting decently and high setting sround 30-40fps i thinkin
I know this is stupid and i know my laptop is slow but its FRIGGIN PORTABLE and id love to take battlefield around with me so i ask, will my AMD Athlon II running at 2.1ghz, 4GB of 1333mhz ddr3 ram and 1GB ATI 550v run this game? i want to get the best out of it and ill be running around 720P or the native 1366x768. and at what sort of graphic setting.. Thank you!
