Will ddr2 motherboard support ddr3 memory?

Hi Every one !!

As i said that I have dell inspiron 518 intel core 2 duo 2.66 Ghz processor
2 GB DDr2 ram,300 GB sata Hard drive,inno 3d geforce 9500 gt 512 MB DDR2.
PSU Dell 300 watts.

So can i upgrade DDR2 memory to DDR3 memory.?

if i upgrade PSU to 650 watts,corsair 2x4= 8GB DDR3 memory and Radeon Hd 6990 1GB DDR5, then my mother board will work???

Please some one tell me!! Please !!

No, you cant do it. The slot the ram fits into is different, so DDR3 ram wont even fit in a DDR2 slot, The new power supply and graphics card would work for you though

NO. you cannot upgrade DDR2 memory to DDR3 memory.....

Well, a new componen could be transfered to new rig. ( I'm always do that changing one part to another eventualy it become new rig... )

But it is true the PSU and GPU to to powerfull for your curent one , and u cannot use DDR3 in DDR2 mobo.
