Im looking at using the i5 2500k for my first computer build and im wondering if hyperthreading is worth spending the extra money to get the 2600k. If im gonna overclock the cpu is hyperthreading really that much better?

More about : 2500k 2600k hyperthreading worth cost

Many programs don't use hyperthreading (I can't think of any actually), so I wouldn't say it's worth it unless you know you have a program which will use it.

If you dont know if you're going to need it or not that means that you dont need it.
go with the 2500k and save $100
