My system specs first:
Motherboard: see title
RAM: corsair vengeance 4x4 gb ram kit (CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9)
Graphicscard: Geforce 560 GTX with 1.2 video ram
amd phenom II 3.4 gigahertz quadcore CPU

Now the problem is the memory led keeps being lid up when i try to boot. I can not see anything on my screen (its not the screen itself) so i cant access bios, i assume, and the memOK switch doesnt do anything but make the led blink for a while.

What i did so far in an attempt to fix it:

Pressed the memOK switch many times without any successes
Switched the jumper to clear cmos, while im not even sure if it really did clear it
Removed the bios battery in order to try and reset the bios, just to make sure

I checked my board's manual for a list of supported memories and the one i tried to instal was clearly on that list, but quite sadly the board seems to refuse that ram, hence the red memory led.

What can i do? i tried other RAMs already to no avail. Are there different versions of the same ram kit with the same product number (CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9)? Like one is xms3 and the other xmp? how do i know which of these 2 my ram is?

Please help me,

sincerely,
a frustrated PC user

Hi,

I too have the same issue with 1866Mhz Corsair Vengence memory.

It doesn't happen all the time for me, however it does seem to be related to the 1866Mhz speed, as it only ever seems to boot properly with it at 1600Mhz :(

My system spec:
Motherboard: Asus Sabretooth 990FX
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 2x4 gb ram kit (CMZ8GX3M2A1866C9B)
Graphics: 2x GeForce 295GTX's
CPU: AMD FX 8120 @ 3.9Ghz
PSU: 1k watt

Any one else having this issue or solved it?
