Hey everyone, figured I'd ask the experts.Anyways, I have no interest in building my own, I'm a mechanic, fine with big tools, small tools not so much. With that out of the way, I am currently looking at picking up a XPS 8300. The guts are as follows:
i5-2500
8 GB RAM
Radeon 6870
1 TB HD

Also comes with a Dell 22-inch monitor. With some coupons I got, it basically comes out to $1060 give or take a few $$.
Figured I'd ask if this seemed pretty decent and if it's something that'll get me by say for 3-4 years playing games.Starcraft 2, Witcher 2, Battlefield 3. etc. Don't do any video or editing with it.Just something to go on the internet and play some games on it more or less.

Also if anyone knows, what kind of resolution can the 6870 handle decent for games?

Haha I'm no expert but I'll try to help. That's really not a bad deal at all. Should be fine for everything you do. The 6870 varies from game to game but from what I've seen you should be able to run most of the mainstream games today (Just Cause 2, Bad Company 2) at 1920 x 1200 and max detail at around 30-40 fps. You can put it up to 2560 x 1600 but it will dip under 20 fps at points.
