Current Rig:

i7 950 @ 4.00GHz
Gigabyte X58-USB3
Sapphire HD6870 (Running 1x 32inch LCD TV)
Corsair XMS3 6GB (3x2GB)
Corsair A50
OCZ Fatal1ty 550W
Coolermaster HAF922
1x 5400RPM 250GB HDD (Windows 7 Professional x64)
1x 5400RPM 320GB HDD
1x 5400RPM 1TB HDD

Upgraded Rig:
i7 950 @ 4.00GHz
Gigabyte X58-USB3
2x Sapphire HD6870 CF (Running 2x 32inch LCD TVs)
Corsair XMS3 6GB (3x2GB)
Noctua NH-D14
A sufficiently powerful PSU
Coolermaster HAF922
1x 5400RPM 250GB HDD (Windows 7 Professional x64)
1x 5400RPM 320GB HDD
1x 5400RPM 1TB HDD
2x 5400RPM 1.5TB HDD

With the addition of a second HD6870, and 2 more HDD's, will my new Rig require a 750W or 1000W PSU? I am making the assumption that my 550W will be insufficient to power my upgraded rig...

Note: the reason for upgrading to a Noctua NH-D14 is because with my A50 the peak temperatures are low to mid 70's, but I doubt the addition of the HSF will make much difference to power demand.

750w should be plenty for that set up. Make sure you get a decent manufactured PSU (something from Corsair, XFX, Enermax, SeaSonic or Antec) with a good 80PLUS rating.

If you wish to check a little more accurately what PSU you require, this calc is great:

Thanks for the advice. I will most likely be going for a corsair 750W. It has to have enough modular connections for 2 graphics cards though. Any suggestions?

XFX PRO 750w comes highly recommended from myself :)  although the cable lengths seem quite short for my CM Storm Scout case....
