How Much RAM Can A Gigabyte G31M-S2L Support?

Hey
I am about to upgrade to windows 64bit and i was thinking about upgrading my RAM I currently have 4 GB of RAM can I go any higher with my current motherboard as I have read that your motherboard can limit the amount of RAM you can use.

Your motherboard supports DDR2 RAM up to a maximum of 4GB using either 667MHZ or 800MHZ if I'm not mistaken

so its that 4GB total or for 4GB in each slot?

It's 4GB total. Upgrading to a 64bit OS doesn't make much sense with the RAM limitation.

Gigabyte G31M-S2L will support up to a maximum of 4 GB of DDR2 RAM which means 2 GB max for each slot. However, the frequency may vary, 1066 (Overclocking) / 800 / 667 MHz. Good luck.

Yes, your Mobo can support upto 4Gigs Max memory ... Upgrade your Mobo rather than ram !
