My laptop is an HP HDX 16
of 4GB RAM
Windows Vista x64

Ever since ive gotten my laptop, Dxdiag cleary says that i have 4096mb of ram
But a few days ago i noticed my laptop has gotten sort of slower
so i open Dxdiag and i find theres 3128mb of RAM!
in my BIOS it clearly says too that theres 4096mb of Physical Memory
even when i go to Computer Properties it says x64 system of 4.00GB RAM
At the task manager it says i have 3068MB of RAM, 2066 Cached and 58 Free.
But i remember and for sure i used to read 4096mB of RAM

Why it this happening? i need that 1GB

And thank you :)

Can u post your Resource Monitor pic?

The picture tells us where the memory is going and/or if you're misinterpreting the memory. The tell tale sign is the amount of Hardware Reserved - normal is ~30-60MB and anything significantly more is a sign of a problem IF your PC/Notebook supports >4GB.

If the Total and Installed are close to ~4000MB then ALL of your RAM is being recognized. Remember about ~1000MB (1GB) is going to be In Use for the OS and any Apps running.
