My brother is getting an ASUS gaming notebook to replace is "prehistoric" 2002 Toshiba satellite laptop with a Celeron CPU and 256MB RAM :pfff: :pfff:

I have a question about the performance of notebook GPU's to their desktop counterparts. Performance-wise what would the GeForce GTX 460m compare to a desktop GPU? A Radeon HD 56xx perhaps? Or an 8800 GTX?

I know that notebook hardware has less than half the performance of their uber-powerful desktop counterparts. But the performance of laptop hardware has become quite impressive very recently. Two-way SLI GTX 485m can run Crysis on very high/1920x1080 and get about a 30-45 fps.
