So, I went out and bought separate parts for a gaming computer.

Here are the items currently in the rig:

AMD Phenom II X6 1090T (3.2Ghz)
Gigabyte 890GPA-UD3H motherboard
nVidia 9400GT (from an old computer)
4Gb (2X2Gb) 1333Mhz RAM

I am currently getting around 10-20FPS with all add-on scenery. I was wondering if I need a better graphics card or whether I should overclock the processor?

If FSX requires a balance between processor speed and gpu memory speed, should a new graphics card fix the problem?

Just to add to that, I cannot find any info on whether an extra 4Gb RAM would help in recording FSX? I know I can overclock to 3.6Ghz on stock cooler, but I want to know if I don't have to overclock the computer to make FSX videos smoother?

I forgot to say, I don't want an nVidia card as I want an Eyefinity setup (4320x900) and around the £100-£250 price range, and I have had a look at the 5850, 6850 and the 6950.

I couldn't edit the post so I had to enter a reply

your video card is the problem. For eyefinity a 6950 would be what you need. a 5850/6850 is good for single monitor. The cpu you have is fine.

Thanks for the info, I've just got to buy a PSU and the Graphics Card now ;)

I didn't think it was bad when I got it... but at least I know it's good now!! :D
