Noisy board Bad Buzz Headache city!!

Hello,

Are you sure it's your motherboard? Use a paper tube and try to find EXACTLY where the sound is coming from.

It could be a few things:

Possibly coil whine from your GPU

A fan is out of place/hitting something.

Your PSU might even be making the noise.

Since only you have the hardware - please use the paper tube trick (either from a roll of toilet paper, or roll up a piece of regular paper and put it to your ear) and find exactly where the noise is coming from.

Dear chainsaw, I've done those things and am unable to locate the source. I Think I will apply for a pistol permit.

Are you sure it's a "buzz" and not a "whirr" sound? The "whir" sound is usually from fans ramping up (either from the CPU fan or GPU fan, or even the case fans).

Does the noise always come on - or only when you do specific things (example: it only comes on during gaming)?

How loud or not so loud is this buzz?

Do you have a spare video card to try out to see if it would eliminate the sound issue?
