Hello! I'm new here, and was just wondering how do I know what kind of Graphic card can I upgrade to.

My current specs are:
Intel Core 2 CPU 6230
1.86 GHz
2.00 GB Ram
Nvidia GeForce 8300 GS

Yes, my computer is like 4 years old.
So I'm deciding to try to upgrade the Graphics card.

Any recommendations of anything better, if I actually can replace the graphic card, etc. Thanks =)

I know this post was in April this year but I thought I share my experience with others.

I happen to own the Dimension 9200 with the E640xx processor. Upgraded the GPU to an ATI 5770 which uses only one 6-pin PCIe power connector. Run as well as I expects, compared to the 8600GTS that came with it.

I did look into getting a GPU that needed 2x 6-pin PCIe power connectors but the power reqirement worried me. Didn't think the 375W Dell PSU was up to the task. Then I looked into changing the PSU but the "difficulty" of taking out the Dell OEM PSU and its cables looked too daunting that I gave that idea a miss (I think I would have to take out the motherboard to do that).
