what is the best mobo in the 100-130 buck range? What's up fellow pale people!? I'm building a cheap gaming PC for BF3 and Diablo of course. Trying to make all the right moves and I think I have so far. Here's my frankenstein....

Just bought:
i5 - 2500k
Ripjaw series 8G DDR3 1600
Radeon Sapphire 6850 1Gig
H60 Water cooling

About to buy:
Corsair 600w (suggestions for a better 600w I'm open to)

Don't know if I should buy:
ASRock Z68 PRO3 GEN3 Intel Z68 ATX DDR3 1066 Intel

I need still:
A good mid-size case that isn't really heavy or huge.
A 128GB SSD

Sooooo the thing that's rubbing my muffin is the fact that the ASRock isn't Crossfire capable. Or else I would get that. I want to keep the mobo as close to 100 as possible. Ideas?

Is it me or is this the same Mobo I was talking about? Maybe not cause this one does xfire, the one I saw via amazon said 1 pci-e. Hmmmm....I think will grab this one. Thank you kind sir.

It's a different one, but the one that THE UNKNOWN posted is fine, too (although not necessarily needed for a 2500K).

"As a gamer there's little reason to pay more for Intel's Core i5-3570K instead of the i5-2500K. However, it is worth noting that the third-gen Core processor features a lower TDP and includes 16 lanes of PCI Express 3.0 connectivity. If you're buying a 7-series motherboard and Radeon HD 7000- or GeForce GTX 600-series graphics card anyway, enabling a faster connection between the CPU and GPU might be an important check-list feature (even if it isn't an important performance consideration).

As far as overclocking is concerned, you should be able to hit similar clock rates on the Core i5-3570K as Sandy Bridge-based CPUs, though you may need to live with higher temperatures, as Ivy Bridge runs notoriously warmer.
Read our review of the Ivy Bridge-based CPUs here." - Tom's

This doesn't convince me BTW. Why would I pay more for something that isn't an "important performance consideration."??

Hah sorry, I hit submit about the same time you posted that on mine. You make a valid point. butttttt when 3.0 becomes useful I'm sure I won't even care about it at that time. I think I'll stick with what I got. :)

All good stuff but all a little pricy for my ghetto game box. I'm thinking 60ish for power, 100ish for SSD. Do you think I can get away with a 600watt power plant with my setup?

Also, the box of choice out of that list for me would be the phantom 410, even though it's a 20lb b1tch.
