The 2500k isn't "better" than the 2600k, its just a better value for the money when it comes to gaming performance.

Hyperthreading doesn't reduce your performance at all in games, it just doesn't help, so paying the extra $100 for it as opposed to the 2500k if all you are doing is gaming isn't worth it.

there were definately some reports at the start of snb that hyper-threading lowered performance, which if the OS can't tell the difference between virtual and real cores doesn't surprise me. I'll look for them later.

dont know anything more about i7 2600k i searched and now im gonna buy it :) For the rams.. im gonna maka a private server of Linage2 and ill work on it for 1 or 2 weeks from my home :) and how much watt do i need for my system 700watt is enough i think?

The difference between a 2500K and 2600K in gaming is normally 1-2FPS and can be either 1 that wins but either way you are never going to notice the difference.

There are some cases where hypertheading can reduce performance slightly, but of course it's pretty rare ^_^.

Anyway, yes the 2600k is the best p67 CPU there is. Only the new i7-3960X on the X79 platform is faster, but not by much and of course it costs alot more :p. The 2500k is the best value, but if you can afford it then I say get a 2600k. You can choose to wait for the much more expensive 7-3960X to become available but it's not really worth it :D
