Well I just ordered an i5 2500k last night, I really hope I didn't over do it, I strongly considered an i5 2400 and even an i3 2130 but everyone and their brother told me to get a 2500k.

My question is about coolers, I have a medium sized case and I don't think a Hyper 212 will fit in there. I wanted to know which coolers are out there that are low profile but still better than the stock heat sink. I was considering this one...

Any good? What kind of low profile coolers can you recommend, Id like to spend 30-40$

I've been using "Arctic Freezer 13" (non-PRO version) for the last 3 months or so and I've been very very impressed with it. Its not "low-profile" but its only a 92mm FAN rather than the 120mm fan on the Hyper212+ meaning its not as tall. It fits into my mid-tower case with no problems and I have side fans on the case as well.

Cooling performance:
i5-2500k OC'd to 4.4GHz
Idle Temps: 30degrees
Load Temps: 65 degrees
Thermal Paste: Came pre-applied

I've had one experience with a low profile cooler, and that was a bad one. I bought the Scythe Shuriken with the 120mm fan, and it was so low profile I couldn't get my fingers in to properly mount it. Just an FYI before to shell out some cash...probably my own ineptitude, but it was a bad evening all in!
