Computer Freeze

Hi. I have this problem with my laptop. I have Nvidia 8600M GT and somethimes when i the GPU is on load i.e. running game and video at the same time the whole computer freezes and a continuous sound keeps playing. I have to restart the computer from the power button. Anybody know what is causing it?

my friend Giorgos (Γιωργο) write msconfig in start menu and you make uncheck that application runs,.. apart from basically sound etc.Restart.... and all ok finally

It could well be overheating. Laptops need to be run on a flat hard surface and the vents need to be free of dust etc. Another possibility is that when you run games and video together (I cannot see why anyone would want to do that) a conflict occurs crashing the GPU.
