Free online assistance diagnosing acer aspire power on problem

Hello,
I have an Acer Aspire 5251-1513 that had the power cord jerked out of it, and the blue power on button does not power up the machine What is the problem, and what do I need to do to check the problem?

  1. sounds like a damaged power socket pin-- on some acer laptops they are not soldered and you can replace them just by plugging a new one in--but it involves dismantling the laptop

    to check you would need a charged battery--if it powers up ok then its probably the pin

    or it could be the charger tip thats damaged but thats less likely
