I have $130 saved up and would like a beefier GPU my HD 4830 isnt cutting it atm. The benches have shown them to be pretty close in performance and I would like to know which one is the better buy.

4890 is a very short lived card both in retail and physical life. Due to their very high power draw and high heat dissipation often shorten their life compared to other cards beyond what some would consider normal. The 5830 is another fodder card much like the 9600gso that is so well known. The 4830 is much of the same but benefited from lower heat dissipation and power draw. The 5770 is the best card for you in the end.

Yea i realize Intel is very expensive compared to amd....Honestly where I live isnt very technologically advanced in terms of computers. Ur average person does not know AMD exists and once they see a Nvidia sticker on the PC they assume it is good.

The same for an Intel logo, I still haven't forgotten their $2.1k usd pentium 2 and their $3k usd pentium pro while years later promising 10ghz p4. :pt1cable:

Well most people are either not young enough or have never read about it. Back in the 90s Intel used to cost a LOT. Their server and workstation cpus literally cost several thousand while even the worst cpu of the late 90s the klamath based celleron with no L2 cache at all aka the "Sluggeron" still cost like $200 back then.

For my age I know more than most :pt1cable:

Still has a unmarked Intel 386, 16mhz

Well when you think about it in the late 90s a very rare and unusual sever showed up. Custom board with two tri socket cards with attached ram for a total of 6 socket 8 pentium pro. :pt1cable:  It has been years since I last seen any thing about it online but still have pics around some ware.
