Comp wont boot with new memory

Hello,
I have a P5k Deluxe/wifi app mb with a Q9550 processor. I am running xp 32bit. I webnt to upgrade ram from 1.5 gig 667 to 8 gig(4x2)khx8500d2t1k2/4g System will not boot with any or all of the new ram. Only the fan comes on. Any thoughts?

U have a x32 bit windows, that will recognize only ~3.25GB of RAM.

Right, I have to upgrade to windows 7 if i want to recognize all 8 gig of ram but It wont even boot with (1) 2 gig stick. I dont want to buy the new os until i know if it will even work

Yes all mem is kingston hyperx khx8500

Can u reset the BIOS?
Reset the CMOS memory the right way as is described in the motherboard manual using the clear CMOS link with the power cord unplugged.
