Is 4Gigs of GDDR5 to much???
Is that a good enough power supply??

you thinking bout going 4 x 6970 and water cooled goodness ? other wise you dont need more then 750 watts

this is good and on special and enough for 3 x 6970 or 6990 + 6970

and when you use 2 or more graphics cards the ram does not add up it still only has 2gb usable

I was not aware that it worked that way, this is my first build. Thats something worth knowing tho. Should I just go for one then? And what is the purpose of Xfire, just the advantage of having 2 GPU's?

you dont add the vram but you do add the processing power

its basically 2 6970 processors running together using 2gb vram
