Hi I am using the ASUS P7P55D Pro motherboard, i7 2.99 Mhz CPU. I presently have installed the Corsair XMS3 1600 MHz 2x2 GM Modules on A1 and B1 slot of the Motherboard. I use the Windows XP Professional 32 BIT version OS. Ideally the computer proerties should show 4 GB RAM installed, but is only shows 2.99 MHz. Is this normal.

If I install additional 2x2 GM RAM, will it show 7 GB installed?

I am presently finding it diccicult to use softwares like Photoshop CS5 as several features dont work due to inadequacy of RAM. Will this problem get resolved if I install a 2x2 GB module.

Also, is it recommended that I use a 4x2 GM RAM modulke onto A2 and B2 slots of the RAM? I will shortly be upgrading to Win 7 Ultiate 64 Bit.

Thanks for your support.

32 bit OS has 4GB limit and some of that is reserved for system processes so I would say you are seeing normal. Not until you go to 64bit OS can you benefit from going with more ram. 4 x 2GB should work fine if all the modules are matching on voltage and latency.
