Actually 500W very very enough ... but that 's 500 Watts eXtreme Power Plus dangeorus for system and 9800GT because actually 460W efficiency 77% with labelled 500W / 600W ... yea , for better get from good brand antec, seasonic, corsair, xfx etc with same power watt 500 very very enough.
and it's al depend your budget , of course .. see price and performance from good reviewer like jonyguru, hardwaresecreet, Kitguru, Harocp

You may also wish to pay your RAM some attention as you say you have 6gb ?

You should have 4 ram slots and all 4 slots should be filled with equal amounts of ram for system stability, E.G.
4 x 1gb =4gb
2 x 2gb =4gb
4 x 2gb =8gb
4 x 4gb =16gb
