Page_fault error

Hello,
I received a page_fault, error when re-installing Windows XP using CD. It gets to 15 min. left and I get that error or irql_not_less....I had old memory sticks, (256) which I removed, but have another left, the other two slot have 1 gig sticks, I am going to attempt again, but first removing the other 256,hopefully this works, otherwise it may be the motherboard and may not be worth fixing. Its a Dell GX620

Ram error is the most likely cause.
