Help me upgrade my gaming rig

So, i haven't made many post, just lurking. Now I need answers to upgrade my pc. I have a decent rig, but feel it could be faster. I've skimped on some parts because i was short on cash and dealing with car stuff, but bear with me. This is a gaming rig that plays RTS's, Oblivion, and some FPS's.

Here's my setup right now. Don't laugh. Please.

Antec 900 case
Corsair VX550 550W psu
Nvidia Geforce 8800 gpu with Arctic cooling Accelero heatsink
WD WD10000CSRTL 1TB hdd
LG CD/DVD drive (model unkown)
Asus M4A78 Pro mobo
Corsair XMS2 DDR2 RAM
AMD Atlon X2 7750 dual core black edition (currently 3.1Ghz OC)
OCZ Vanquisher CPU cooler

So, my question is this: What should I upgrade next and what are your suggestions as to what I should purchase? I am always trying to keep costs low, but performance high. I don't mind buying ''yesterday's'' product because it may still be better than what I have currently. Any help would be beneficial. Thank you!

You have a very decent machine, not laughable at all. Better than a lot we see actually. :) Anyways if you are looking for better game performance I'd start by upgrading your GPU (graphics card). 4870 or a 4890 would give you a pretty good increase. (or GTX 260 core 216 / GTX 275 if you're more into nvidia) Another note, ATI 5 series is coming out soon so there is a 'possibility' of some price drops, but its hard to say.

IMO if I was you I'd upgrade to a 4870. The price on those is unbeatable.

Actually, before deciding, what resolution do you play on?
