Never built a gaming rig based on an intel chip before, although I have built many based on amd and still have a couple in use.

This is the new build I have pretty well rested on, but wouldn't mind some additional info, or useful information if anyone has something they feel would be useful for me to take into consideration.

Some things to note, I will overclock this. If I am not satisfied with the high quality air cooling solution, I have an exisiting water cooling setup I can swap it out with. I don't give a hoot about blu-ray. I will be running the ssd in raid 0 or 5.

whats your resolution and 2 6870's for this extreme build!!

i dont like the HAF series it sucks in way too much dust and its paint chips off try this case- http://www.amazon.com/SilverStone-Steel-Computer-Window... or this case http://www.amazon.com/Silverstone-Extended-90-Degree-Mo...

ram- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

you may want to look into skimming down on the ssd's and motherboard so you can get some bad*** gpu's

motherboard- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... and x8/x8 wont bottleneck your gpu's

try this dvd drive- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

ssd- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... x2 or get 1 and a storage drive (which is fast enough)- http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Spinpoint-3-5-Inch-Intern...

I did make an adjustment, and it lowered my overall cost, which was nice.

Going with (2) 2GB 6950's. I have to agree with you, I can make an adjustment to improve my video. Stick with one Intel SSD, with a 500gb Drive to store data. I have a 2008 standard server at home that the family dumps all their music, movies, pictures and other crap on, so additional storage is not necessary.

you may want to look into a tri-monitor setup. that is what i would do with that much money
