Netbook won't turn on after RAM installation

I just recently upgraded my D255 Aspire one netbook, and when I tried to turn it on and it didnt work, it turned on but the screen stayed black while the power button lit up. I then tried to re-install my original RAM and still the same problem. Any help?

Use a torch to check if the screen actually shows the desktop, and only the backlight is off. Maybe a cable to the monitor lost contact somehow...

szaboaz is right. if you didn't get it "torch" is a flashlight. one of those words that's different between countries

not very likely since it happened after a memory swap but still. reseat the old ram?

Well English is not my native language. When I was a child, there was "Jamie and the magic torch" in the telly, so that's where I got the word, lol. But I learn every day. So it also means flame torch, haha.
Actually practicing the language is one of the main points for me to participate in the forums. It seems to be working out

LOL I figured he'd make the connection if he was fluent in English, but on an international forum you never know.

When I hear torch my first thought is a welding or propane torch. but I think in England they call a flashlight a torch
