H77 vs B75??

Was looking at two Asrock boards for my first build

Stuck between a b75 and an H77. Not planning to overclock or anything too drastic. Just play Diablo 3 and some WoW possibly.

Already purchased the case, also the CPU (i3-2120)

The b75 is cheaper, which is why I was looking at it more, because I am building a budget gaming PC.

Any help would be much appreciated.

  1. I don't know much about either, I usually recommend H77 for budget Ivy Bridge builds.

Since your going with Sandy Bridge, you should consider H61 for budget build:

  2. Im picky with the colors. Got a red case with a window and vents so was trying to keep it matching with black or red/orange colors, also need the inboard usb 3.0 headers

This is also a viable option.
  3. Red case? lol, I don't get it, neither of the boards you linked in your first post are red........and the boards I linked have usb 3.0 headers.....

Picking pc parts by color is the dumbest thing I ever heard of. Maybe you should have mentioned that in your first post.

I'm sure all the people that come to look in your case window will be sorely disappointed to find a blue motherboard in there.

Its pretty obvious that with a red case with a window I'd like a matching setup. Also I said black or red Mobo. Not just red. The 2 or 3 I showed are definitely Black. You need to think some more before you hit that submit button pal.

And neither board you linked has usb 3.0 Connectors...

You should definitely get your facts straight.

    Thanks anyways buddy
  5. You must be blind, the asrock board clearly says in the title USB 3.O

I wouldn't recomend a biostar board to my worst enemy, but in your case at least it matches if someone peers in the window. lol

Maybe next time you should mention in your post the parts must be color coded.

Oh and make sure your optical drive has a red light on it too.

Good luck with your lite brite build kiddo.

My case has USB 3.0 ports on the front. Neither of the boards you showed support those smart guy. And I thought I was a computer noob... Common now buddy.
  7. Simply buy any motherboard you want and throw 1 can of red paint. i think itll do.
