Every time a play a CD my computer slows down. If I change tabs in my browser the song freezes (as well as my PC) and then it comes back. My CD drive, a TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-S223C SCSI CdRom Device is almost new.

I have Windows 7 with an AMD Sempron 2800+ and 3 GB of RAM.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Thats an old single core SKT-A.

When you switch away from CD player to your browser, more CPU time is given to the browser than the CD player, hence the song freezes or skips.

Hate to say it, getting well past its retirement date.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I didn't have this problem on other systems. Is there anything I could do?

all new pc's now adays have a minimum usuallt of a dual core

most have quad core

plus that cpu is from 2005, better to buy new motherboard and cpu (i ussed to have a dual core that was from that era, anyrhing less than a dual is not worth keeping
