Phenom II 955 Compatiable with GIGABYTE GA-MA78GM-S2H?

Hi all,

Does anyone know if my motherboard is compatible with "AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Deneb". It is an AM2+ motherboard, and some people said you can just update the bios and plug a cpu like Phenom II 955 into it. I like to confirm it before spending >$100 on it.

My current cpu is "AMD Athlon X2 4850e 2.5GHz" with 6GBs of DDR2 rams.

Many thanks in advance, I like to prolong the life of my pc.

Thank you for the reply, and according to the link you provided, Phenom II 955 is not supported for the AM2+ revision.
The best cpu I saw listed was "Phenom II X4 940", sad... :(

    Hi!

I have an GIGABYTE GA-MA78GM-S2H rev 1.1 with F12B. I purchased an PHENOM II X4 955 BE two weeks and it is working fine in my motherboard.
