Yes, install the drivers and the programs that u use the most, make one backup and

than install the security apps(u don't want them in the back up).

Not which is the best paste, which is the best way to apply it.

By the way. I got my case today...Its so sexy,,hahaha Im soo excited..I cant wait to get all the other parts :p

I know how u feel :D

so it says a small dot...My concern is that because of my cooler being the 212 plus(4 pipe contact) if i put a small dot, will it spread efficiently? wont the canals between pipes wont let it spread?

in the flat one the grease will spread eavenly but on the pipes one i think the level of the pipes and the in between thingys are uneven and the grease wil get stuck in the "canals"

OK, its still the same procedure and amount.

If it would be hot, than, u can add little more. But the goal is to use as little as possible.

The less is there, the better the cooling effect!

When u apply, u will run a stress test to see your max temps and if they are OK, it works.

If they are up, than reapply with more.

Depends on which direct touch heatpipe design you're talking about. The 212+ (the one you pictured) is different from the 212 Evo.

212 Evo

The paste application IS different between them.

im gettin the 212 plus, what you recommend?

Apply a small amount of paste (seriously, very small), to the base of the heatsink and spread it enough to fill in the crevices. After that, a small pea sized dot in the middle of the CPU should do it. Don't spread that, just let the weight of the heatsink do it.

Im not asking where to put the heatsink, thats obvious, im asking where the thermal grease goes in the heatsink, Djdecibel said jn the base and i was asking where eexacly in the base

Where the heatpipes are. Just take a card (or flat object of some kind) and spread the small bit of paste over the heatpipes on the bottom (like you have in the pic you posted) making sure to fill in the crevices. Won't take much!

Just the very thin line of space between the pipes and the plate.

This is where the 212 Evo is much better, and why I always recommend it over the 212+. No need to worry about that with the 212 Evo.

The Evo by 1-3C, so not much of a difference there. Just easier to install, since you don't have worry as much with the paste application. Just a simple pea sized dot in the center of the CPU with the 212 Evo and you're all set.
