    Install everything to the SSD.

Don't you want the fastest access for all your "stuff?"

You got an SSD, now use it!

If you would like more info, please read my thread: Tips for SSD Users
  2. Yes, install the drivers and the programs that u use the most, make one backup and

than install the security apps(u don't want them in the back up).
  3. Should i make the backup before or after installing windows updates?
  4. Do it after.
  5. Okay.

Hey, which is the best way to apply the thermal paste to the 212 plus?
  6. Not which is the best paste, which is the best way to apply it.

By the way. I got my case today...Its so sexy,,hahaha Im soo excited..I cant wait to get all the other parts :P

    I know how u feel :D
  8. so it says a small dot...My concern is that because of my cooler being the 212 plus(4 pipe contact) if i put a small dot, will it spread efficiently? wont the canals between pipes wont let it spread?
  9. ...
  10. Check the whole page. It shows the spread over the CPU, its just right.
  11. is it with a pipe contact fan or with one of the others flath thingy?
  12. its with one of the flat ones
  13. What do u mean?
  14. this is flat:

this is the pipes with the canal thingys between each pipe
  15. in the flat one the grease will spread eavenly but on the pipes one i think the level of the pipes and the in between thingys are uneven and the grease wil get stuck in the "canals"
  16. OK, its still the same procedure and amount.

If it would be hot, than, u can add little more. But the goal is to use as little as possible.

The less is there, the better the cooling effect!
  17. Hey I found an example:
The guy in this thread: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/329530-28-will-applying-thermal-paste-reduce-effectiveness iknowhowtofixit stated: "If it is the direct touch heat pipe type, you apply thermal paste differently than a regular flat surface heatsink."
  18. ...
  19. When u apply, u will run a stress test to see your max temps and if they are OK, it works.

If they are up, than reapply with more.
  20. Depends on which direct touch heatpipe design you're talking about. The 212+ (the one you pictured) is different from the 212 Evo.

    212 Evo

The paste application IS different between them.
  21. im gettin the 212 plus, what you recommend?

Apply a small amount of paste (seriously, very small), to the base of the heatsink and spread it enough to fill in the crevices. After that, a small pea sized dot in the middle of the CPU should do it. Don't spread that, just let the weight of the heatsink do it.
  23. where i put it in the heatsink exacly?
  24. I posted u the pics with the same already installed cooler. The same way.

    Where?
  26. In that old post : )
  27. Hyper 212 Plus should be like this one.

  28. You just showed me the one for the ram low profile thing
  29. Yea i saw that pics but what im Worried is about the thermal paste not ram
  30. Once u will see it, u will get it. There is not much room to screw that up.
  31. U can screw that up, only when u use too much of the thermal paste.
  32. I dont understand
  33. What question are you answering?
  34. Im not asking where to put the heatsink, thats obvious, im asking where the thermal grease goes in the heatsink, Djdecibel said jn the base and i was asking where eexacly in the base

Where the heatpipes are. Just take a card (or flat object of some kind) and spread the small bit of paste over the heatpipes on the bottom (like you have in the pic you posted) making sure to fill in the crevices. Won't take much!
  36. What you mean with crevices(just to make sure)
  37. itsmenando said:

The small spaces between the heatpipes and the bottom plate.
  38. Ok, not the soace between pupe and pipe?
  39. Just the very thin line of space between the pipes and the plate.

This is where the 212 Evo is much better, and why I always recommend it over the 212+. No need to worry about that with the 212 Evo.
  40. But which one is better in performance?
  41. The Evo by 1-3C, so not much of a difference there. Just easier to install, since you don't have worry as much with the paste application. Just a simple pea sized dot in the center of the CPU with the 212 Evo and you're all set.
  42. Is the grease that comes with the 212+ and evo any good or i it a must buying another grease
  43. It's fine. Arctic Silver 5 is a bit better, but the stuff that comes with the 212+/Evo is just fine.
