Hello,

i have a fujitsu siemens d2464-a2 pc (LOW PROFILE)

with a amd athlon 64 x2 4000 cpu with socket am2 (940)

my ram is pc2-6400 (400 mhz)

graphics card is nvidia geforce 6150le

psu is 250w but its a funny shape so geting a new psu will be hard to find

best upgrade from what it looks like would be ram, and cpu. how much ram can your motherboard support? and check to see if there are any BIOS updates for your motherboard, updating the BIOS might allow to motherboard to accept newer cpu's


edit: okay so i did some quick research and it looks like your motherboard supports a maximum of 4gb of PC2-5300 DDR2 ram. and supports cpu's up to the athlon64 x2 5000+ series. what you can do is max out the ram. and your motherboard also has a pci-e slot so you can put a low profile graphics card too

There isn't really any worthwhile upgrade that I can see. If you upgrade your video card you going to need a PSU upgrade as well, and any modern GPU would be bottlenecked by your CPU. If you upgrade your CPU you are going to need a new MOBO and RAM. For the cost of that you may as well build a new system.

You might see an improvement from adding a SSD but I've never heard of someone putting one in such an old system.
