Well, you stuffed alot in that case. Now might I ask why in the world you would get 6970x2 when you have a perfectly good GTX 570? Same with going AMD. You need to go 2500k. Which by the way, you may want to learn up, because you could lose alot of money if you don't know what you are doing. Going from an HP prebuilt to a $2000 PC is quite a leap, you need to read into it before buying anything.

is that '6GB ram' DDR3? if its DDR2 it wouldnt work in the new setup. you could just SLI a second GTX570 if you wanted (in the new rig instead of buying 2 new 6970s).

i would highly reccommend just upgrading your processor to a phenom 955 or a phenom 980, you have a perfectly good rig right there, and upgrading to an SSD. you would not notice a difference in gaming beetween a 1100T and a 955.

you mobo supports up to the phenom 980, so unless you want to waste your cash i would highly reccommend sticking with your current rig:

an SSD, would give you that speed difference you are looking for. and that GTX 570 should be able to play almost any game today at ultra settings even at 1080p.

imo if you have cash to burn then upgrade to the setup you listed, otherwise just upgrade to a phenom 955 (or a phenom 980), and buy an SSD, and enjoy!

I think the homebuilt and newbuild sections have a bit of crossover. However if you are looking to build new, I new thread would be a good idea. Select a best answer, That will let people know it's solved.
